Do you believe that your team members could answer the following questions with confidence and clarity?
- Why am I here?
- What am I supposed to do?
- Who are the other people on the team and what talents do they bring?
- What are WE supposed to do together?
- Who does what, when and where?
- What are our goals? How are we doing?
- What decisions can I make?
- How does what I do make a difference?
- What is the purpose of our work?
- What does this company stand for?
- How does what we do make a difference to the big picture of the company?
- What are our agreed team processes?
- Can we all clearly articulate “our team values” and what they look like in words and actions throughout the organization?
- What happens when one of us or all of us are not in alignment with our values?
And how about these tougher questions...
- Do I hold back sharing something important because I am afraid of expressing it?
- Do I ever express something in a slightly more favorable light?
- How often have I protected someone from what I consider a tough message?
- How often have I feigned modesty for something I was really proud of?
- What causes me to hold back in these situations?
- Do I give my leader feedback about how he/she is doing? If not, why not?
- Can I share my opinions honestly in meetings?
- What is not being said that if it were, would change everything for the better?
- Do I give my team leader sensitive information that he/she should know in a timely open manner? If not, why not?
- Do I feel my leader’s door is really open for conversations?
- Is there anyone on the team who is “holding the rest of the team “hostage” from doing its best work”?
- Is our team really “playing the game” or is this just a practice “scrimmage” and people are not giving their best for the win? Why not?
- Am I “current” with all of the conversations I need to have with people?
- Do I spend time “being right” versus being “curious” about others’ point of view?
- Do I feel that people on my team like and care about each other?
- Do I feel that we support each other’s success or are we “watching our own back”?
If you have reflected and honestly answered these questions and you believe that your team could benefit from a focus on "taking a time out to get things right", we would like you to contact us regarding our workshop..."GO SLOW TO GO FAST...Building a Team of Integrity One Step at a Time."
“The success or failure of any organization or effort boils down to two questions: Are we operating from passion? If we are we are going to succeed. Do we respect and support each other? If so, we’re going to excel.”
